New Twist In Chelsea’s Centre Back Search As They Eye Bargain 25M Transfer

Chelsea are the latest team to take a keen interest in Fulham defender Joachim Andersen, according to BT.dk.

The Danish tabloid reports that, in addition to Manchester United and Tottenham who were linked with the centre-back in the English press last week, the Blues are one of three other Premier League clubs keeping tabs on the 24-year-old.

Crystal Palace and Leicester are also looking at Andersen, who will return to Lyon at the end of the season when his loan deal with Fulham expires.

The Dane is likely to be available for transfer in the summer, and it has been suggested that the centre-half could be sold for as little as £25m; a similar figure to what Lyon signed him for in 2019.

Andersen would be a lot cheaper than some of the alternatives that Chelsea have been looking at. Atletico Madrid’s Jose Gimenez has a £104m release clause, while the likes of Bayern Munich’s Niklas Sule and RB Leipzig’s Ibrahima Konate would also cost more.
