Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi provided an assist as England’s U21s came out 2-1 winners against Austria in a European Under 21 Championship qualifier last night.
The 19-year-old delivered the corner which saw Norwich’s Ben Godfrey score to make it 2-0 on the night. Supporters on Twitter are backing the forward to start when the Blues kick-off their new campaign against Brighton on Monday evening:
Think he’s nailed on to start Monday

Has to
I’d be shocked if he didn’t— Parzabil (@Parzabil_CFC) September 8, 2020
I just hope Lampard doesn’t go back to playing Mount on the wings and continues to bench Hudson-Odoi.
Doesn’t help either player, nor the team!

Manager Frank Lampard has a few selection dilemmas heading into the first game of the season. Christian Pulisic is struggling with a hamstring problem so there would be an opening for Hudson-Odoi in the starting eleven.
However, Mason Mount may well get the starting berth on the left with Hakim Ziyech on the right and Kai Havertz through the middle. If, though, Ziyech is also ruled out, Havertz could well be moved to the right and Mount to the centre, allowing space for Hudson-Odoi. We shall have to wait and see who Lampard chooses next week.
