Mourinho: You Are Too Fat To Officiate!

Jose Mourinho has been under the spotlight when it comes to statements made regarding the referees in the Barclays Premier League, and the Chelsea manager has once again come under scrutiny for his incident with referee Phil Dowd on New Year’s day, according to the Mirror.

Chelsea played Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane on the first day of the year, and it was not a good day for the men from West London. Even though the away side took the lead in the first half, Spurs were quick to come back into the game, and soon took the lead. The match eventually finished 5-3 to the home side, and Mourinho was left moaning about decisions made by Dowd, who was the referee on the day. The former Real Madrid manager let his feelings about Dowd’s fitness for a referee be known to the official and several other witnesses in a rant that took place after the game in the tunnel. Mourinho has already been charged by the Football Association with misconduct after claiming there is a campaign that has been organised against Chelsea’s success this season.

The Blues will face Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium this coming Saturday, and will attempt to extend their lead at the top of the league. Manchester City, who dropped points against Everton this past week, will once again have a difficult fixture as Arsenal will visit the Etihad Stadium on Sunday. Jose Mourinho was at least calm enough to take his usual Friday press conference this week and was charming and humorous and it seems like he has put his silence to bed for now.
