Mourinho Worried Ahead Of Arsenal Clash!

Chelsea have a dismal away record in the Premier League this season, winning three, drawing two and losing the remaining three of their eight away games played so far this season.

Their away woes continued in midweek when they were knocked out of the Capital One Cup by Sunderland. The Black Cats came from behind to shock the Blues, who are conceding far too many goals for Mourinho’s liking.

In fact, Chelsea have already conceded more goals this season than in their entire 2004-05 campaign – when Mourinho led them to the Premier League title in his first season in charge.

The London side also have problems scoring goals, with their strikers guilty of being wasteful in front of goal. Out of 32 goals scored by Chelsea this season, only 5 have come from the boots of their forwards.

According to ESPN, Mourinho is concerned about Chelsea’s form with his side conceding sloppy goals at the death instead of killing the game off. He said, “Every time we miss a chance and the score is 0-0, 1-0, 2-1, 1-1, I feel the pressure.”

“I feel that missing the chances, maybe later you are punished. We have this problem. We were poor against Basel [but] in every match we lost in England, in the Premier League and in the cup [at Sunderland], we were the best team by far.”

“We were always very comfortable on the pitch, we had unbelievable chances to score to kill the game. We don’t do it. Late goals are a consequence of a team that doesn’t kill an opponent. If you score two, three goals the opponent is dead and the opponent has no reaction.”

However, Mourinho does have an enviable record against Wenger; he has never lost against the Frenchman in nine matches previously. Chelsea will have the added motivation of going top of the table if they are able to beat Arsenal on Monday night too so we expect Jose to continue his streak.
