Mourinho Will Not Buy Another Striker!

Despite all the rumours to the contrary and the results delivered by the current strike-force, Jose Mourinho will not buy another striker in the winter window. Eto’o and Torres have scored 3 Premier League goals each so far this campaign – hardly enough even by lower league standards yet alone Premier League standards.

Jose has exclaimed that he is 100% certain that Chelsea will not sign another striker. As Yahoo! Eurosport report the Portuguese boss as saying,

“It’s not an option. We have three. A striker, 100 per cent no,” the boss discussed in the traditional press conference on Friday.

“This squad is good enough for my first season, for the objectives of the first season and to prepare for the next season. We are happy with the squad we have.

“If we can improve the squad to prepare for the next season, we will.

“We know what we need for the future. We are preparing for the future but competing in the present. We are favourites for nothing, we just want to be favourites for the next game.

“As I was saying [after the match] at Southampton, the market is open but for us it’s almost closed.”

So that is pretty emphatic from the boss- no striker will be joining Chelsea FC this winter! Can’t help thinking that he still might add at least a striker on-loan, the Higuain rumours suddenly doing the rounds do seem a bit far-fetched however.
