Mourinho Wants Courtois To Extend Chelsea Deal

Shot-stopper, Thibaut Courtois is in his third season with Atletico Madrid on loan from Chelsea but will finally head back to Stamford Bridge at the end of the season. The 21-year-old signed for the Blues in 2011 but has yet to make a competitive appearance for them.

The Belgiam has been linked with a move to Atletico’s arch-rivals Real Madrid with only two years to go on his current deal. However, Mourinho does not want to lose Courtois and according to the Express, has demanded that Courtois sign a new deal with the club.

It is unclear whether Cech, current first choice at the Bridge, or Courtois will be the number one goalkeeper next season. However, the latter has made it clear he will not settle for being left on the bench as the back-up for Cech.

He would like to stay for another season on loan with the Spanish club but the report suggests that Mourinho will send him out on loan once again only if he signs a new deal with the Blues.
