Mourinho Unhappy With His Team’s Performance Against WBA

Chelsea managed to stay on top of the Premier League standings despite ending the match against WBA in a draw. Even so, Mourinho looked unsatisfied with the fact that the Blues failed to keep their lead until the end of the game. Their adversaries scored a late goal after some poor defending by Luiz and Cech who looked totally unfocused.

The Portuguese manager was also unhappy with the fact that his team failed to score when they had the chance. According to TEAMtalk, Mou urged his players to end the game with a second goal. Not doing so cost them the privilege of being now three points ahead of Arsenal who also ended their game in a draw.

It is becoming clearer with each fixture that Chelsea need a striker. This is the second game in which Ivanovic was the one to score. If the Blues had Lukaku or if a player like Falcao, Rooney or Suarez would have moved to Stamford Bridge, things would surely be different.

Mourinho had a lot to say about the way his team performed. He was not pleased with the way they reacted or with the way they handled the beginning of the game which could have easily secured those much needed three points.

It was a bit unexpected of Chelsea’s boss to criticize his players the way he did but the pressure is really high. The battle for Premier League glory is closer than ever and any small mistake like the one against WBA could cost them the title.
