Mourinho To Face Disciplinary Hearing

The Blues are not in the best of situations. Even if Mourinho’s arrival at Stamford Bridge was seen as the biggest transfer of the summer, Chelsea are not in the best of form. The atmosphere within the club is very tense and it is clear that things are not the way they were supposed to be. Many thought that the Portuguese coach and Abramovich would not be able to work together again after their first fallout. When Mou signed for the second time, he assured fans that things are settled and that his collaboration with the Russian team owner will not be an issue.

Chelsea’s agitated situation is apparently reflecting on the team’s results. After a very unexpected home-loss against Basel, the Blues have trouble working as a team. Good luck is also not on their side considering the injuries that obligated Mourinho to set up a different starting eleven.

The tension is also reflected in Mou’s behavior who has risked being called to face disciplinary charges after the match against Tottenham. The Portuguese manager lashed out at Mike Dean and Jan Vertonghen at the end of Chelsea’s clash against the Spurs. According to Metro, Mourinho called Vertonghen a disgrace and said that Dean made a huge mistake by sending off Torres.

The Spaniard received his second yellow card after the referee penalised an apparent elbow by him. When looking at the replays it appears there was no contact between Torres and Vertonghen. Mourinho said that this decision was the main reason for his team losing two points. He also commented on the fact that Tottenham’s players should have been sanctioned in the match against Aston Villa, when he stopped Helenius from scoring by grabbing on to his pants.

Chelsea are now two points behind Tottenham, and have to face Steaua Bucharest in their second Champions League match of the 2013-2014 season. The return of Juan Mata was one of the few good things about the game against the Spurs and according to Mourinho, the Spaniard will be included in the starting line-up in the future. Hopefully for the Blues, the 25 year old will show a great form just as he did last season.
