Mourinho Talks Up Rivals’ Euro Chances

According to TEAMtalk, Jose Mourinho has refused to rule out Manchester City and Arsenal’s chances of going through to the next round of the UEFA Champions League despite difficult away ties against top opposition.

Chelsea are seven points clear at the top of the Barclays Premier League after winning 4-0 at home against Tottenham Hotspur. Their Champions League spot in the next round is all but assured after grabbing an away goal in their first leg against Galatasaray.

While the Blues are due to play their home leg next week, City and Arsenal play their ties this week. City lost by two away goals against Barcelona who earned a clean sheet at the Etihad Stadium. At the Nou Camp, Manuel Pellegrini’s men face a daunting task of scoring a minimum of two goals past Victor Valdes. On the other hand, Arsenal face the same uphill task against Manuel Neuer and Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena without suspended Wojciech Szczesny.

The majority of the expert pundits are ruling both English sides out of the competition, but Mourinho believes the difficult task can be overcome by both sides to secure a place in the next round.
