Mourinho speaks out about Maurizio Sarri

Former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has spoken out about the appointment of Maurizio Sarri has the new manager of the club.

Mourinho had a lot to say about Antonio Conte during his spell at Stamford Bridge after the Italian replaced him as manager, and it was thought that the Portuguese would have a similar sort of bitterness towards Sarri.

However, the United boss said that Sarri has the ‘conditions to do good work’ at the Blues, praising Chelsea’s infrastructure.

The pair will meet next season for the first time ever, with Sarri managing at a lower league during Mourinho’s time in Italy with Inter Milan.

And Mourinho has finally spoken out about his counterpart ahead of their first meeting on October 20.

“I don’t know him,” he told beIN SPORTS. “When I was in Italy from 2008-10, he was not in Serie A. I never met him or played against him. I just follow football and lately the good work he did with Napoli.

“In England, all the good managers have the desire to come. It’s a crazy competition with a high level so I think every manager has the dream to come so he had the chance to come.

“He has a fantastic team, fantastic players and squad – I think he has conditions to do good work.”
