Mourinho Set On Trying To Sign Modric

Jose Mourinho seems keen on signing Modric from Real after he brought him to Madrid from Tottenham a couple of years back. According to Metro, the Blues might propose a swap which will include Ramires. Apparently Ancelotti is also keen on the Brazilian midfielder who has been on his radar since the winter transfer period. Ramires has not been himself during the last part of the season, losing his spot in the first eleven to Matic although he did still make the Brazilian World Cup squad.

Chelsea could really benefit from this kind of deal especially knowing how well Modric performed while in the Premier League. In order to bring in the Croatian international, the Blues will have to pay an extra £10million reportedly. The bad news for Mourinho is that Real want twice as much money even though the two midfielders are more evenly matched in his eyes.

It would be a great deal if Mourinho can get Modric signed but hopefully Rami is not part of the deal as it seems like it would be too much to give up on the young and still developing Brazilian to acquire the Croatian midfield-general.
