Mourinho Rules Out PSG Pair As Striking Options

According to TEAMtalk, Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has ruled out a move for Paris Saint Germain pair Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Edinson Cavani, after the Blues were linked with a move for either forward in the coming summer window.

Chelsea have been depending on Samuel Eto’o as their main attacker, while Fernando Torres remains out of action temporarily through injury. Demba Ba will most certainly be sold in the summer, and Mourinho will attempt to decrease the load of scoring off Eden Hazard’s shoulders. Romelu Lukaku’s return from his season long loan deal at Everton will help Mourinho, but the Portuguese would ideally like to pair the Belgian up with another in-form player.

Ibrahimovic has been in sublime form this season with 29 goals in 30 appearances, and the Swede has been performing at the highest level in both the league and the UEFA Champions League. Cavani has also been effective in attack ever since his move from Napoli, and has scored 13 goals in 20 appearances. With Ezequiel Lavezzi also in attack, the trio represent one of the most fierce attacking partnerships in Europe.

Mourinho wants to add this kind of striking quality and it will be very interesting to se how he solves the conundrum he faces.
