Mourinho Reacts To Yaya Toure’s Accusations

Mourinho’s way of handling things off the pitch seems to attract a lot of criticism not only from other managers but from players as well. After lashing out at Pellegrini and Wenger, Chelsea’s manager is now involved in a dispute with Manchester City’s Yaya Toure.

According to ESPNFC, the Ivorian considers Mourinho’s approach a bit exaggerated. The 30 year old midfielder pointed out that Chelsea were constantly interested in winning the Premier League title and that the Portuguese manager has been behaving as he has just to attract attention to himself rather than to the entire team. Pressure can be an important factor in endurance contests such as the domestic league which according to Mou, is not on top of his list. Toure also stated that the Blues’ manager is permanently using mind games in order to influence adversaries.

Mourinho was quick to react to Toure’s comments by saying that Manchester City’s player got things all wrong. The whole thing started after Chelsea’s boss wished both Arsenal and City good luck just before their Champions League matches. According to the 30 year old midfielder, the purpose of these comments was to increase the pressure players feel before important games like those in the knock-out stages of European competition.

The Portuguese manager denied using such methods and insisted his wishes were not meant to hurt anyone. He is simply a fan of Premier League football who loves to see more English teams go through the next stage of the Champions League.
