Mourinho Publicly Courts Radamel Falcao!

Chelsea are well-known to be Falcao’s admirers, having had an interest in him during his days at Atletico Madrid. They tried to snap him up last summer, however lost out to Monaco who put their recently acquired wealth to good use and signed him for a massive £50 million. Despite the transfer, the Blues’ interest in him has not died out.

The switch to the riches of Monaco has not been ideal for Falcao, as his season has been marred by indifferent form and a long-term injury from which he is currently recuperating. Also, insiders believe that he is not happy with the lack of competition in the Ligue 1, and could possibly be open to a switch after just one season in France.

Chelsea, who are themselves struggling in the striking department, have been widely touted to go for a striker in the summer, and Falcao’s name is on top of the list. Mourinho was asked about the Colombian striker, to which he made this controversial statement, “I have a team, but no striker. Falcao does not have a team. A player like him can’t play in front of 3,000 people. Monaco is a club to end [your career with].”

The Daily Mail now report that the Portugese manager has lit the fire under what will possibly be a very public pursuit of the 28-year old. Will Chelsea get their man?
