Mourinho Makes It Official And Final – Courtois To Return To Chelsea After World Cup

So the story which has gone back and forth so many times it has had our heads spinning has been resolved finally – Thibaut Courtois will return to Chelsea permanently after the World Cup is concluded.

As the BBC have reported, Jose Mourinho made the announcement when speaking at a charity event he was attending in the Ivory Coast. Mourinho said of his young goal-keeping star, “When the World Cup is over, Courtois will come straight back to Stamford Bridge – end of story.”

So Mourinho has ended any chances of the in-demand Belgian from going anywhere else. With not only Atletico Madrid but also Barcelona being suggested as possible destinations for Courtois to play next season, the Chelsea manager felt it was necessary to stop the speculation from continuing. The Belgian team will be thankful that their shot-stopper will no longer be distracted by club matters and can now focus solely on his country’s attempt to win the World Cup in Brazil.

It will be interesting to see how Cech and Courtois get along once they are competing for the number one position at Stamford Bridge not to mention seeing who actually wins the shirt.
