Mourinho Looking To Sign His Former Player

Real Madrid is going through some significant changes that might favor teams such as Chelsea who are looking to make some modifications of their own. After letting Ozil go, it looks like Real will split ways with another German international. Sami Khedira is no longer a first choice for the Spanish side especially after Bale’s transfer and Isco’s impressive performances. The 26 year old midfielder has been a target for English clubs even since the summer transfer period but nothing materialized.

According to the Daily Mail, Khedira is very upset with his current situation. He publicly expressed his disappointment with the fact that he has been either in the stands or on the bench since the beginning of the season. The German international also spoke about how Ozil’s departure created quite a stir within the club. He also admitted that his team is not in the best of form especially because of players that show too much individualism.

It is very hard to believe that after all Khedira had to say about his club, he will still remain with Real after the winter transfer period. The good news is that he considers himself a disciple of Mourinho which means he will be more than happy to collaborate with his former manager. The feeling goes both ways as the Portuguese manager seemed to prefer the German player over Xabi Alonso and Modric while coaching Real Madrid.

Chelsea would probably use a player like Khedira who would be a great fit plying behind Ramires and Oscar. He is still young, which is one of the main criteria the Blues use to select recent transfers. The 26 year old midfielder is valued at £19.5 million but might leave Spain for a lot less than that. He is under contract until the summer of 2015 but his current status does not indicate he will fulfil his agreement with the Spanish side. The only problem that could come between Khedira and a winter transfer could be his long injury history. He is not the fittest of players having to deal with ligament and muscle problems.
