Mourinho Is Keen On Surprise Return To Chelsea For Third Spell As Manager

Jose Mourinho would be interested in returning to Chelsea for a third spell as manager, according to the Sun.

The Portuguese is reportedly prepared to make a return to Stamford Bridge if the Blues offered him the job.

Whether Mourinho will be in the running for the post this time around, it remains to be seen. Chelsea have reportedly drawn up a list of candidates to replace Maurizio Sarri, but the legendary former manager is not currently a frontrunner.

Derby boss Frank Lampard is said to be favourite to land the role, while the likes of Max Allegri, Ajax head coach Erik ten Hag, Wolves’ Nuno Espirito Santo, England assistant Steve Holland and Watford’s Javi Gracia are all believed to be in the frame.

Mourinho’s last spell in charge ended acrimoniously with the Blues sitting 16th in the league following nine defeats in 16 games. However, his record of three league titles, three League Cups and one FA Cup make him the club’s most successful manager.
