Mourinho Hinting At Drogba Return!

Mourinho Hinting At Drogba Return!Mourinho spotted Drogba’s talent way back in 2004 during his first stint at the helm of Stamford Bridge, and signed him out of French club Marseille. The Ivorian then spent 8 hugely successful years in London and in the process, cemented his place as one of the legends in Chelsea’s folklore. His winning penalty against Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League final simply confirmed his iconic status at the club.

The striker then chose to slow down a bit in his twilight years and chose to head to the less demanding and less competitive Chinese league when he signed for Shanghai Shenhua. However his stay in Asia was very brief as he swiftly secured a move away to Turkish giants Galatasaray in January.

There have been rumors surfacing which are stating that the 35-year old is already in line to make a dramatic return to the club where he reached new heights in football, and to the club which helped him become one of the best strikers in Europe.

Mourinho, who shared and still shares an excellent and emotional relationship with Drogba, was asked about the possibility of him returning to Chelsea one day, and he replied saying that he was totally open to the idea while secretly admitting that he does hope to see him return soon. He was quoted by ESPN as saying, “Drogba is worshipped at this club and this is perfectly normal,”

“I think one day he’ll return to Chelsea.

He is a very important player in Chelsea’s history and will always be in the memory of the fans, the management, the owner and his team-mates.

It is normal that he will have a future at Chelsea. As a coach? I do not know.”

With Mourinho keeping the door open for a return of Drogba, how do you think will he come back, as a player or as a coach? And if he hypothetically does, will he work in tandem with Mourinho and make Chelsea stronger?
