Mourinho Genuinely Returning To Chelsea?

The end of the football season is quickly approaching and some major moves are to be made on the transfer market. Players like Falcao, Bale, Cavani and/or Neymar are very likely to take the next step to a top-tier team, making the 2013 summer transfer period potentially the most exciting one in quite some time.

It looks like players are not the only ones who are closely being watched by the fans and media. People are all excited about knowing what Jose Mourinho’s destination will be in the summer. Apparently this will be his last season with Real Madrid. According to numerous reports the Portuguese coach is very keen on returning to the Premier League after, when compared to his usual high standards, his not so successful current season spent at the Bernabeu ends (which could still yet yield a couple of trophies, one of which could be the Champions League!).

He has declared on many occasions that he is in love with English football and his future is closely tied to a Premier League team. Mourinho is really close to returning to the UK, with Chelsea most definitely looking to bring in a big name to replace Benitez, who has failed to live up to expectations. Man United cannot be forgotten as a destination for Jose as it known Sir Alex Ferguson supports Mourinho as a replacement for him when he does decide to move into the Director’s box.

The Portuguese manager’s latest declarations lead people to believe that he will be returning to Stamford Bridge. He stated that his future team will be one that he has already trained. Add to that the fact that he also said he loves English football and you immediately think of Chelsea.

“The Special One” won two Premier League trophies while coaching the Blues. After some difference of opinions with club owner, Roman Abramovich, Mourinho decided to leave the club in the early part of the 2007-2008 season. Since then he has been permanently linked to Chelsea even though he went to Inter and won everything there before moving on to Real where he won La Liga in his second season and has pushed Spanish club owners into some major investments in the transfer market that were clearly the Portuguese’s choices.

Another thing that indicates Chelsea will be Mourinho’s next destination is the fact that he already won all he could with Inter and Porto. The Portuguese declared he is an adventurous spirit and it is very likely to see him trying to win the Champions League with the Blues which is regarded as his one piece of unfinished business in West London. Abramovich also declared that letting Mourinho go was not one of his best decisions and getting the Russian to admit to making a mistake is like getting blood from a stone so that bodes particularly well for the supporters’ highly desired Mourinho return.
