Mourinho Eyeing Sneijder Reunion! – Holland Boss

Dutch midfielder, Wesley Sneijder forged up a successful partnership with the Portugese manager during the duo’s time at Italian outfit Inter Milan. Since then, both of them have moved on in their respective careers. Mourinho went on to coach Real Madrid before returning to Chelsea, and Sneijder joined Turkish giants Galatasaray for a paltry sum of £8.4 million last January.

It is understood that Sneijder is eyeing a move away from Galatasaray in as early as this January, as he believes that he needs to improve his form, and with the World Cup next summer, he wants to leave no stone unturned when it comes to booking his place in the Holland squad. He wants to start by moving over to a bigger club and playing well regularly.

As a result, he is eyeing a January move to Chelsea and reuniting with Mourinho – the manager who was responsible in turning the 29-year old into one of the best play makers in Europe. Louis Van Gaal spoke to the media and Metro report him as saying that Chelsea and Mourinho himself is quite keen on bringing Sneijder to Stamford Bridge in January to strengthen their attack and to give them much more experience and creativity in midfield, and help Sneijder’s cause as well.

He said, “I know Chelsea and Jose Mourinho want Sneijder in the winter market,”

“In my opinion, if possible Sneijder should leave Galatasaray and join Chelsea.”

“Playing under Mourinho again would improve his performances and help him regain his form for the national team.”

Apart from Frank Lampard, there are not many experienced midfielders at the club who are playing on a regular basis, therefore the addition of Sneijder to their squad makes perfect sense for them. Also, it would better his chances of sealing his place in the team for Brazil next year, thus this deal looks like a win-win for all parties concerned.

Insiders suggest that Sneijder could be available to Chelsea for as little as £5 million, which is an absolute steal. Manchester United have always been fans of Sneijder and they may make a move for him too, but Mourinho would surely be favourite to re-sign this midfield maestro?
