Mourinho Dismisses January Transfer Talk

Jose Mourinho has dismissed talks of Chelsea spending on any players in the upcoming January transfer window and at the same time has assured supporters that there will be no players in the current first team squad leaving either, as revealed in his interview with talkSPORT.

The Blues sit comfortable at the top of the Barclays Premier League although tied with Man City but with a game in hand over the Citizens (the Monday night game vs Stoke City at the Britannia) and Mourinho has successfully managed to improve the team’s chances after last year’s failure to win the title. The former Real Madrid boss confessed to fans last season that the team may not win the title, but before the start of the current campaign, the Portuguese manager was far more confident of his team’s chances to challenge for top honours. The arrival of Diego Costa has undoubtedly been the biggest influence in the side, and the attacking department as a result has seen a dramatic improvement. Fernando Torres was sent on loan to AC Milan, leaving the attack short of numbers, but Mourinho’s decision to bring Loic Remy and Didier Drogba into the fold to compliment Costa has resulted in a positive goal scoring output for the side – much improved over last year. The set of strikers have a competitive spirit, and even though Costa is the number one choice in the first team, Remy and Drogba are fighting hard for a spot.

Mourinho confirmed the good news that despite Kurt Zouma being stretchered off in the week during the game vs Derby County the French defender is not seriously injured and therefore will not need to be replaced. Indeed Mourinho has gone on record to confirm that the club do not have any January Winter transfer window plans and that they are happy with the squad the way it sits and he has no plans for any incomings or outgoings. Hear all what Jose had to say in this exclusive interview with talkSPORT.
