Mourinho Determined To Continue His Trophy Winning Streak

Chelsea’s Portuguese boss, Jose Mourinho shared his thoughts with the fans after most started looking concerned about the way their team has been performing. The Blues are not in their best moment of the season. Fortunately for them, they managed to go through the next stage of the Champions League, they are a match away from reaching first place in the Premier League and have a chance at winning the Capital One Cup. All that work could be in vain if they don’t improve on their game which according to Jose, is not even close to what he and his team had in mind for this particular point of the season.

According to the Daily Mail Chelsea are not favorites to win any of the competitions they are currently involved in. If their defensive lines continue in their current form the Capital One Cup is the most they could hope for. Mourinho insisted he must win a trophy this season even though he only returned to Stamford Bridge during the summer.

The Portuguese manager thinks it is unacceptable for a club as big as Chelsea to finish a season without any addition to their trophy case. He is also looking to continue his impressive run. The Special One has never gone through a season without winning a trophy.

Mourinho also spoke about future plans. He mentioned Benitez and hinted towards the fact that building a team would have been a lot easier if the Spaniard had an interest in Chelsea’s long term rather than in short-term results. The Blues look set on investing in a long term plan which involves a lot of young players. The squad is not complete yet and has been missing some key footballers. Their lack of efficiency in front of goal and their insecure defensive line are two of the biggest problems a couple of transfers could solve. Even though the Portuguese manager pointed out these deficiencies, he also mentioned that there are no sure targets for the winter transfer period.
