Mourinho Deflects Invincibles Talk

Jose Mourinho has deflected talks suggesting his Chelsea side are on the verge of emulating Arsenal’s unbeaten invincible side in the early 2000s and has given the Gunners credit for winning a once-in-a-lifetime achievement, according to the Daily Mail.

Arsenal travelled to Stamford Bridge on Sunday looking to redirect their good form in the Barclays Premier League after having a pleasing midweek. Arsene Wenger’s men took on Galatasaray under immense pressure from their opening group loss at Borussia Dortmund, and injuries to key players did not help the manager’s cause at the Emirates Stadium. But the squad came out in impressive form, defeating the Turkish giants 4-1.

Chelsea nicked a win themselves in the Champions League by defeating Sporting Lisbon by one goal. Mourinho’s men are the only side in the Premier League who are yet to be beaten by an opposition, but the manager is refusing to rest on his laurels just yet. Diego Costa’s great start to his career in the Premier League continues, and the striker was fit for Arsenal’s visit on Sunday. The Spaniard is currently the top goalscorer in the league with 8 goals before the game and he added another with a sublime bit of quality in the 2-0 win

Arsenal’s squad of invincibles was led by skipper Patrick Viera who was influential in instilling a sense of confidence in the team. Thierry Henry was the side’s leading attacker and continues to threaten defences in the United States to this day.

Fortunately for the blues, Arsenal continued their inept displays against them as Costa and Hazard delivered the goals in a solid Chelsea win and even though the boss is downplaying it Chelsea are still unbeaten in the League.
