Mourinho Confident Squad Changes Can Only Improve Chelsea’s Game

Jose Mourinho recently pointed out that the team will be even better with the new arrivals. Despite the fact that many initially criticized him for letting David Luiz join PSG, it seems that the Portuguese manager was right in doing so. He has been patting himself on the back ever since seeing Luiz’s dreadful World Cup performance. According to the Daily Mail, Terry and Cahill were not going to be replaced by the Brazilian who was one of the highest paid players in the squad but was rarely at the top of his game.

Letting Luiz go was part of a very elaborate plan which Mourinho had since last year. Apparently, Chelsea’s playing style will change somewhat with players like Luis, Fabregas and Costa moving to Stamford Bridge this summer. The two Spaniards will be key in winning some trophies next year. The Blues lacked striking power and depended mainly on their attacking midfielders to score goals.

Fabregas and Costa will bring composure to the team and will offer the wingers a lot more space and time to focus on their job. Chelsea also signed Zouma to become a long term solution for the center of the defense. With Terry in his final years, the young central defender could make his way into the starting line up in the next couple of months if injury hits the squad.
