Mourinho Booed While Monitoring Falcao

It is expected that Falcao will leave Monaco after spending only a few months playing for the French side. Chelsea who have been constantly linked to the Colombian player during the summer, seem to have the best chance to sign the 27 year old striker who managed to score in the friendly match against Belgium. The biggest news though was that Mourinho personally flew to Belgium to monitor the Blues’ possible future acquisition.

The Portuguese manager has always been a fan of Falcao even since the Colombian international was playing for Atletico Madrid. The two had to face each other a few times considering Mourinho was coaching Real. It would have been no surprise if Monaco’s forward would have chosen London as his future destination and not France. Most say that he moved to Ligue 1 instead of the Premier League for the money and they are probably right. It was clearly a step back from playing in La Liga against Barca and Real or from winning the UEFA Europa League.

Falcao seems to have realized it is a bit too early to lower his quality of football and is now looking for a new challenge. Chelsea may finally have the striker they have been looking for. It will cost them a lot but there is a big chance the Colombian will become even more efficient and deadly in front of goal given the excellent midfielders the Blues can line up.

Mourinho’s presence in the stands did not go unnoticed. Belgian fans booed the Portuguese manager each time he came up on the big screen. According to the the Daily Mail, the fans were not happy with how Chelsea’s manager treats De Bruyne who is more than likely to leave after failing to impress Mou who even criticized the youngster for his lack of commitment.

Chelsea’s boss also kept a close eye on Hazard who lacked the finishing touch in the match. His passes were barely on target and his focus was not even close to perfect. Mourinho could have also come to analyze Christian Benteke’s game who has impressed since moving to Aston Villa.
