Chelsea attacking midfielder Mason Mount says he is keenly anticipating Hakim Ziyech‘s arrival from Ajax in the summer.
The Blues have agreed to sign the Moroccan international for £37m at the end of the season, and Mount believes the winger will undoubtedly strengthen the squad. The 21-year-old played against Ziyech when he was on loan at Vitesse Arnhem and he rates the midfielder highly:
“Two years ago I was in Holland on loan so I knew a bit about him then and obviously how good of a player he is. So obviously it’s another amazing, world-class player joining the club. So yeah buzzing to work with him, train with him and hopefully play with him.”
Ziyech has certainly been ripping it up in the Eredivisie over the past two seasons with Ajax, having bagged himself 22 league goals and 30 assists since the start of last campaign.
Although some may question whether he can make the step up from Dutch football to the Premier League, the Moroccan has also shown what he can do in the Champions League.
Mount doesn’t seem to have any doubts about Ziyech and Chelsea supporters will be keen to see the 27-year-old in action when he arrives at Stamford Bridge later this year.
