Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has a wealth of options to choose from ahead of their season opener against Crystal Palace tomorrow.

Kepa may have come up with the goods in the penalty shootout against Villarreal but Edouard Mendy is likely to keep his place in goal.

In defence, Cesar Azpilicueta and Andreas Christensen are expected to come in for Trevoh Chalobah and Kurt Zouma, with Antonio Rudiger making up the rest of the back three.

Reece James may start ahead of Callum Hudson-Odoi at right wingback but Marcos Alonso did enough in midweek to merit keeping his spot on the opposite flank. In midfield, Jorginho could be recalled to play alongside N’Golo Kante, with Mateo Kovacic dropping to the bench.

Up front, Romelu Lukaku has been ruled out from featuring so Kai Havertz will keep his place through the middle. Hakim Ziyech’s unfortunate shoulder injury will allow Mason Mount to reclaim his position in the side. Timo Werner’s disappointing display versus Villarreal may see the German dropped with Christian Pulisic coming into the lineup instead.
