Morata will get even better with Hazard partnership

Sky Sports pundit Danny Higginbotham says he is surprised by the instant impact new signing Alvaro Morata has made at Stamford Bridge this season, as he is yet to form a fully functioning partnership with Eden Hazard.

The Spanish forward has scored 7 goals for the Blues so far this season following his £60m+ move from Real Madrid this summer. The 24-year-old could be out for up to two months with a hamstring injury though, which would be a bitter blow to Chelsea.

However, despite potentially facing some time without the striker, Higginbotham says he is surprised at how well Morata has settled at the club – and says it is only a matter of time until he forms a deadly partnership with teammate Eden Hazard.

Asked how he thinks Morata has coped with the start to life he’s had at Chelsea, Sky Sports pundit Higginbotham said:

“Very well. Another player that’s had massive pressure on him with the price tag but not just that, replacing Diego Costa.”

“He’s a brilliant focal point, he leads the line very well.”

“What I like about him as well is that he brings other players in.”

“What we’ve got to remember as well is arguably Chelsea’s best player going forward, Hazard, he’s been missing for so many games.”

“For Morata to get the goals that he’s got with, more often than not, Hazard not being in the team.”

“Imagine what it might be like now with Eden Hazard back in the team, giving him more assists.”

“He’s been brilliant, he’s a clever player, he’s got great movement, gets in the right place at the right time.”
