Morata open to Juventus return this summer

Morata open to Juventus return this summer

Chelsea striker is reported to have given the green light to a return to his former club Juventus this summer.

Juve are set to lose Mario Mandzukic at the end of the season with a host of Turkish and Chinese clubs interested in the Croat, and the Italian club want Morata to replace him should he leave.

Morata left Juventus in the summer of 2016 to re-join Real Madrid before switching to Chelsea a year later in a club record £57 million deal.

The Spaniard however has since struggled to adapt to life in the Premier League and is reported to be unhappy at Stamford Bridge.

Morata enjoyed a successful two-year spell with Juventus between 2014-2016.

Morata has 14 goals in 40 appearances (only two of those coming in 2018) in all competitions so far this season and according to Rai Sport he has already informed chiefs of Juventus that he would be open to return to Turin in the summer.

The Chelsea star is not the only striker on Juve’s radar however, with The Old Lady also understood to be keeping tabs on Manchester United’s Anthony Martial and highly rated Genoa teenager Pietro Pellegri.
