Michael Owen Predicts The Result As Chelsea Take On Tottenham

Former England international Michael Owen is expecting Chelsea to just edge their encounter with Spurs tomorrow evening.

The BT Sport pundit says he has been impressed by one Tottenham player, in particular, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg but, despite being impressed by the performance of both the Dane and his teammates, he is backing the Blues to come out on top:

“It should be a cracker, but it’s so hard to call! One player that is standing out for me at Spurs right now is Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg. He’s exactly the type of player that Jose Mourinho likes in his side, and if he keeps playing well, I can see him earning more plaudits as the season progresses.”

“With both these teams having such quality in attacking areas, I think there will be over 2.5 goals in the game with Chelsea just shading it 2-1.”

Owen is right when he says this game is a difficult one to predict. Chelsea do have a lot of attacking weapons in their arsenal, but Jose Mourinho is an expert at nullifying opponents and punishing teams on the break.

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard will know more than most about what to expect from a Mourinho team, and he will likely set up his side to play cautiously in order to not be caught out like Manchester City were by the likes of Harry Kane and Son. This will be a tight game won by the finest of margins.
