Michael Owen Predicts The Result As Chelsea Face Newcastle

Former England international Michael Owen is expecting Chelsea to get a comfortable win when they take on Newcastle at Stamford Bridge this evening.

The Blues have racked up four consecutive wins under new manager Thomas Tuchel and Owen fully expects them to keep up the run when they line up against the Magpies tonight:

“I think this one will be tough for the visitors. Chelsea have their tails up and seem to be extremely focused on securing Champions League football next season. I think they’ll have too much and can see them running out comfortable winners.”

Owen is predicting a 3-0 win for the home side, which may be a slightly generous scoreline, considering Chelsea have struggled to score goals in recent games.

The London club have been dominant in possession since Tuchel’s arrival but they have yet to find their cutting edge, so it may be a bit too optimistic to say they will simply sweep Newcastle aside.

Steve Bruce’s team do have a pretty poor away record, losing eight of their 11 games on the road, but they will keep a low block and it will be up to Chelsea to break them down.
