Michael Owen Predicts The Result As Chelsea Face Arsenal

Michael Owen is anticipating a comfortable win for Chelsea when they take on Arsenal at Stamford Bridge this evening.

The BT Sport pundit believes that despite the FA Cup final being on Saturday, he doesn’t expect the Blues to take their eye off the ball:

“With an FA Cup and Champions League final to look forward to, it could be about to get very interesting for Chelsea fans. Arsenal bounced back from their Europa League exit with a win against relegated West Brom at the Emirates.”.

“It’s been a season to forget for Gunners’ fans, with the gap between themselves and the top four becoming more alarming as the season goes on. Chelsea may have one eye on the FA Cup final; however, organisation has been key for Tuchel, and I don’t see his side taking their foot off the gas just yet.”

Owen has gone with a 2-0 victory for the home side, which is a pretty fair prediction. Even if manager Thomas Tuchel does opt to rotate, with Saturday’s final in mind, the strength in depth he has available to him in the squad means he will field a competitive team against the Gunners.

In contrast, Arsenal have been poor this season and, unlike Chelsea who are still looking to secure a top-four finish, Mikel Arteta’s men have very little to play for, other than pride. In terms of both quality and motivation, everything does favour the Blues. Of course, games are not won on paper but there is a clear favourite for tonight’s match.
