Michael Owen Predicts The Outcome As Chelsea Take On Burnley

Former England striker Michael Owen thinks Chelsea will be riding high after their 4-0 win against Krasnodar during the week and is expecting them to carry that form into their match against Burnley tomorrow afternoon.

The Clarets have yet to win a league game this season, with Sean Dyche’s side currently sitting 18th in the table, and Owen thinks the Blues will come out on top when the two teams face each other at Turf Moor:

“They were excellent at times against Krasnodar midweek, and I think they’ll have gained a lot of confidence from that. If Chelsea appear in the same mood, I think they could win this by a couple of goals.”

Considering the form of both sides, Chelsea have to be the favourites for this one. The return of Thiago Silva to the squad should give manager Frank Lampard the added experience required to negotiate Burnley’s direct style of play.

Dyche’s team may have only scored three goals in the Premier League so far but the likes of Chris Wood and Ashley Barnes will cause the Blues’ backline problems. It would be a big boost if they can secure another clean sheet.
