Michael Owen Predicts The Outcome As Chelsea Play Fulham

BT Sport pundit Michael Owen is expecting Chelsea to record a comfortable victory when they take on Fulham at Stamford Bridge tomorrow evening.

The clash against the Cottagers is sandwiched between two Champions League semi-final ties but Owen doesn’t believe Thomas Tuchel’s side will lose their focus as they look to secure a top-four finish:

“Although Fulham have a tendency to surprise us when we least expect it, I don’t think Chelsea are the type of side to switch off too often. West Brom may have caught them off guard a few weeks ago, but I don’t see that happening here.”

Owen has gone for a 2-0 win for the Blues, which is a pretty fair prediction, considering the form of the two teams. Since the arrival of Tuchel, Chelsea have been watertight defensively, while Fulham are pretty poor in the final third so another clean sheet for the home side could be in the offing.

However, there are question marks over whether the game against Real Madrid will be a distraction. Tuchel is expected to rotate in order to freshen things up so there will be some concerns that the performance could be somewhat disjointed.

Saying that, the Blues have a very strong squad so you would back them to pick up the three points even if the Cottagers do make things difficult for them.
