Michael Owen Predicts The Result As Tuchel Takes Charge Of His First Chelsea Game

Michael Owen is predicting that new Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel will get off to a winning start when the Blues face Wolves this evening.

Although he thinks Nuno Espirito Santo’s side will put up a fight, the BT Sport pundit does expect Tuchel’s men to secure a narrow win at Stamford Bridge:

“Unfortunately, Frank Lampard’s time at Chelsea came to an end on Monday morning. Football can be a cruel business and the Chelsea players will have to adapt quickly as Wolves travel to the Bridge. The visitors can cause most sides problems; however, they’ve not been the same since talisman Raul Jimenez was side-lined with his terrible head injury. That said, I still think Wolves have enough to get on the scoresheet, but I think we could see a reaction from the Chelsea players and if we do, I reckon they’ll have enough to win.”

Owen has gone with a 2-1 victory for Chelsea, which seems like a pretty sensible prediction, considering they are facing a tough opponent. You would, though, expect that the players will be up for this match, as they look to prove themselves to their new manager.

Fans shouldn’t expect this to be a free-flowing game, though, with Tuchel having had just one training session with his players, but there is certainly enough quality in the squad to secure the three points tonight.

It will be interesting to see who the new head coach selects in the starting lineup as it will be a good indication as to who will be regular first-team starters going forward.
