Michael Owen Predicts A Surprise Result As Chelsea Face Tottenham In The London Derby

BT Sport pundit Michael Owen is predicting Thomas Tuchel to lose his first game as Chelsea manager when they take on Spurs tomorrow evening.

Jose Mourinho’s side are not in good form heading into the fixture, having lost their last two matches against Liverpool and Brighton, but Owen thinks they could spring a surprise result:

“It’ll be an interesting battle between the two managers, and even though Tottenham haven’t had the results they may have wanted recently, these are the types of matches where Jose Mourinho excels. With that in mind, I fancy Spurs to just edge it over their London rivals.”

Owen has gone with a 2-1 victory for Tottenham, which is a bold prediction considering the fact that not only are Spurs playing poorly, they are without their main goalscorer Harry Kane.

Mourinho will no doubt make this a cagey, niggly affair and he will almost certainly allow Chelsea to have most of the possession, but his gameplan will only work if Tuchel falls into his trap.

The German is known to be a smart tactician and he would have studied Mourinho meticulously before the encounter. A draw is probably the likeliest result in this one but hopefully, Owen can be proven completely wrong with the Blues picking up the three points.
