Michael Owen Makes His Prediction As Chelsea Face Brighton

Michael Owen is expecting Chelsea to seal a comfortable win when they take on Brighton in their first league game of the season at the Amex.

The BT Sport pundit says he is excited by the Blues’ transfer business this summer and he does see them challenging for the league title. With that being the case, he predicts they will get off to a good start tomorrow evening:

“I am so excited about watching their progress this season and I think they could provide a real challenge to the pre-season favourites of Liverpool and Manchester City. It’s hard to see beyond a comprehensive victory for Frank Lampard’s Blues in this one and I’m going for a 3-1 win to Chelsea.

It’s unlikely that it will be a free-flowing performance from Frank Lampard’s side, considering the number of new players that will need to bed in, but they should have the quality to overcome their opponents, who haven’t really strengthened their squad since last campaign.

Adam Lallana has arrived from Liverpool on a free transfer while they also snapped up Joel Veltman from Ajax on the cheap. They have also reintegrated Ben White after his loan spell at Leeds, but you can only see there being one result in this season-opener.
