Messi Predicts More Success For Former Rival Mourinho

Mourinho made his name as Chelsea boss, as he revolutionized the way Chelsea played football along with changing the entire face of the club in his 1st period in charge. From a good top six side, he turned them into genuine champions on multiple occasions. He changed the entire philosophy and mentality of Chelsea once and for all.

He then went onto a tour across Europe, and is now back at the helm of Chelsea after a gap of 6 years following his departure from Real Madrid only a few weeks ago. While he was in the Spanish capital, he could not do much to build on his reputation. On the contrary he developed an entirely new and opposite one – that of a grumpy, reluctant speaker engaging in press-conference mind games.

He particularly faced off against Barcelona on several occasions during the El Classicos, which have further tarnished the already hostile relationship between the two giants of Spanish football, which now looks in need of repair. Barcelona’s superstar Lionel Messi, however, has refused to get sucked into this entire media feeding-frenzy surrounding Mourinho’s antics and instead has revealed that he thinks Mourinho will recreate his magic at Chelsea, the way he did the first time he was there.

Daily Mail report him as saying, “I think the Spanish league is difficult anyway and will continue being difficult,”

“We’ll be fighting against strong teams with great players like Real Madrid. “

“Mourinho was a great coach but we know that Ancelotti is equally great. I think Mourinho will also succeed back at Chelsea because he’s a great manager.”

With Messi complimenting Mourinho and predicting future success for his onetime rival, what do you make of this? Will Mourinho respond to Messi’s kind words in a similar fashion? Will the El Classicos be as feisty as they used to be during Mourinho’s days? We can only wait and watch as to how Mourinho reacts to Messi’s comments if at all.
