Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount has been voted Chelsea News‘s Player of the Season by fans. The 22-year-old was the runaway winner, picking up 49.57% of the vote.

N’Golo Kante came second with 33.15% while Edouard Mendy finished third on 14.7%. Thiago Silva and Cesar Azpilicueta were also nominated for the award, and you can see the full list by pressing “view results” below:

While there was certainly strong competition from his teammates, Mount’s consistency over the course of the whole season means he is fully deserving of the accolade.

The England international scored nine goals and contributed nine assists in 54 appearances, but his game is more than just about the numbers he produces.

Mount has played in a number of different positions under both manager Frank Lampard and Thomas Tuchel, while his work rate is an example to others in the first-team squad. Considering his age, he is likely to improve further in the coming years.
