Mendy Reveals What Has Changed At Chelsea Since Tuchel’s Arrival As Manager

Chelsea goalkeeper Edouard Mendy says he is a big fan of manager Thomas Tuchel providing direct feedback to his players.

The German does have a reputation for being a difficult character, having fallen out with people at both Borussia Dortmund and Paris Saint-Germain, but Mendy says the 47-year-old’s outgoing personality and positivity are massive plus points:

“He is very expressive. He shows when he likes something. When you did well on the pitch and every day at training and in the game he pushes you. He stays positive but he also shows his determination and that is good for me and the team.”

Like everything, though, Tuchel’s time at Stamford Bridge will be defined by results rather than how well he gets on with his players on the training ground.

Currently, things are going to plan, with the 1-0 win over Atletico Madrid on Tuesday night his best result during his brief reign in charge of the Blues.

It’s a big week for Chelsea, with the London club facing Manchester United and Liverpool in their next two fixtures, and we will soon find out how far the team has developed under Tuchel since his arrival last month.
