Caballero, Chilwell And Thiago Silva To Start, Kepa And Alonso Out: Chelsea’s Predicted XI To Face West Brom

Chelsea’s newest signing Edouard Mendy will not make his debut when the Blues make the trip to face West Brom tomorrow evening, manager Frank Lampard has confirmed.

After Kepa made yet another mistake in the 2-0 defeat to Liverpool last weekend, the Spaniard is unlikely to keep his place with Willy Caballero expected to be named in the starting eleven instead.

With Thiago Silva getting an hour under his belt against Barnsley midweek, the Brazilian may get his second start at the Hawthorns, possibly partnering Kurt Zouma in the centre of defence. In the fullback areas, Ben Chilwell could get his full debut at left-back after playing the last 25 minutes in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday night. Reece James will likely be favoured ahead of captain Cesar Azpilicueta on the right flank.

In midfield, Jorginho is expected to start alongside N’Golo Kante, with Kai Havertz playing as the advanced playmaker after impressing in the position with three goals versus Barnsley.

Up front, Tammy Abraham’s impressive display midweek could be rewarded with another start by Lampard, with Timo Werner and Mason Mount playing out wide.
