Mata Set For Manchester Move

Mata Set For Manchester Move

According to The Telegraph, Chelsea already have two possible destinations in mind for Juan Mata who is no longer part of the clubs’ future plans. The Spaniard who was the Blues’ best player of the 2012-2013 season has been linked to Manchester United and Atletico Madrid who both look determined to sign the 25 year old winger.

It appears that Atletico are willing to let star striker Diego Costa and Filipe Luis leave just to clear the way for Mata. Even so, United still look like having the upper hand when it comes to signing the Spaniard.

Chelsea are now waiting for an official offer from the Red Devils who are already looking to spend big money in order to avoid not getting any trophies this year especially after their Capital One Cup exit. Mourinho who would prefer to see Mata stay even as a substitute player, recently declared he will not stand in the way of a Manchester United deal as long as the 25 year old insists on signing with Moyes’ side. He expects the Spanish international to directly express his desire to move to the Blues’ rivals.

Atletico are the only ones who could come between Mata and United. The midfielder may also be part of a more complicated deal as Atletico, Chelsea and United share some common interests. Costa has been a target for the Blues and Filipe Luis a target for United. In order to sign the Spaniard, the team from Madrid would surely need the funds considering Chelsea’s player is valued at £37 million. This could mean they are willing to part ways with both players targeted by the two Premier League giants.
