The Boot Room reported a few days ago that the World Cup winner is being watched by the Blues.
Since leaving Arsenal to become Aston Villa’s No.1 in 2020, Martinez has established himself as one of the best goalkeepers in the English top-flight.
That reputation is justified by his stats. The Argentinian international has conceded 7.3 goals fewer than expected, which is the best figure for any Premier League keeper this season.
Martinez’s save ratio (66.2%) is somewhat less impressive, but it’s clear that he is very capable of bailing out his team when they cough up big chances.
