Manchester United have no interest in landing Chelsea legend

Manchester United have no interest in signing former Chelsea defender John Terry, according to reports.

TalkSPORT presenter Adrian Durham claimed earlier the week that Jose Mourinho should try and sign the ex-England captain to help solve the defensive crisis at United, sparking rumours he could be on his way to Old Trafford.

Terry is a free agent after having left Aston Villa at the end of last season, meaning he is able to move to a new club outside of the transfer market.

However the Manchester Evening News claim United have no interest in landing Terry.

They also claim sources close to the defender have revealed he too is not in favour of a move to Old Trafford due to the possibility of having to face-off against his old club Chelsea.

United have had a poor start to the new season, having lost two of their four Premier League games, with Mourinho struggling to find a consistent partnership at the heart of his defence.

The Portuguese manager has used five different players at centre-back already this term, even using midfielder Ander Herrera as a make-shift in a three man defence.

However Mourinho will not turn to Terry to help solve his problems, and will instead wait until January to move for a new defender.

United were heavily linked with moves for both Harry Maguire and Toby Alderweireld in the summer.
