Manager Makes Frank Admission About 18 Goal Forward’s “Last Few Weeks” At Club Ahead Of £53M Chelsea Move

RB Leipzig head coach Marco Rose has admitted that Christopher Nkunku is in the “last few weeks” of his time with the Bundesliga club.

A move to Chelsea is believed to have been agreed but there has been no official confirmation from either club. Rose did, however, appear to let the cat out of the bag after the forward scored his 18th goal of the season against Hoffenheim at the weekend:

“That (winning goal) should give him a boost for the next few weeks – for his last few weeks with us.”

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has put his reputation on the line by claiming that Nkunku will be a Chelsea player this summer so it seems like the player has signed on the dotted line, despite no public statements.

There is some debate about the cost of the transfer. Nkunku’s reported release clause was €60m (£53m), but there have been rumours that the Blues paid over that amount (potentially as much as €80m/£70m) to get the deal agreed before rival clubs could make their move. From Rose’s comments, we shouldn’t have to wait too long before everything comes out into the open.
