Chelsea midfielder Jorginho’s form under Frank Lampard has seen him transform himself from scapegoat to fan favourite in the space of a few months.
The 27-year-old has admitted in recent days that he has been given more license under the new regime and it has paid dividends with his performances on the pitch.
A large number of supporters on Twitter are now calling on Lampard to hand the captain’s armband to Jorginho:
Make him captain already!

It will be interesting to see what happens if Cesar Azpilicueta is dropped in favour of Reece James at some point this season. The Blues are a very young team, and with the exception of Jorginho, the only other options would probably be Pedro, N’Golo Kante and Willian.
Considering how important the Italian is to the team in the middle of the pitch, and the fact that Lampard has already praised his leadership qualities, it would be hard to bet against the midfielder being given the captaincy in the event of Azpilicueta’s absence.
