Lukaku Not In Mourinho’s Plans As Replacement Is Lined Up

According to the Daily Mail, Chelsea are reportedly looking to sell Romelu Lukaku in the summer, and replace the Belgian with Monaco star Radamel Falcao or Atletico Madrid striker Diego Costa.

Jose Mourinho has repeatedly refused to accept he made a mistake by letting Lukaku go to Everton on a season long loan. The Portuguese boss has a unique understanding of his dream squad, and that surprisingly does not include Lukaku. Mourinho is looking to add experience and world class calibre to the Chelsea strike force, and Falcao or Costa would give the manager just that. This philosophy may have something to do with how the English sides like Arsenal and Manchester City have struggled to cope against the likes of Bayern Munich and Barcelona, despite their talented squads. Lukaku would present an attacking talent, but not experience, and that is not acceptable to Mourinho.

Lukaku has been on top of his game for the past few seasons on loan at West Bromwich Albion and Everton, and has performed well enough to earn a spot in the Belgium squad for the FIFA World Cup. However, Roman Abramovich may pressurize Mourinho to give Lukaku a chance to save spending, especially with the Financial Fair Play on the horizon.
