Romelu Lukaku could well still leave Chelsea at the end of this campaign, with a report from ESPNFC  suggesting that the Belgian striker would be open to a move away if the club are successful in bringing in too many big name strikers in the squad.

Having failed to secure to zone in on a player in the past few transfer markets, Chelsea have been looking for a big name striker to come in and take the responsibility of scoring a minimum of 20 goals a season. A disappointing stint from Fernando Torres and lack of quality from Demba Ba, Victor Moses and Samuel Eto’o has meant the club depend too much on their midfield to provide the goals. Fortunately for Chelsea, the likes of Eden Hazard and Oscar are proficient in their attacking style, and have managed to score many goals for the club but this may not last.

Lukaku has surely proven his talent in the Barclays Premier League since his move to Chelsea in 2011, and his loan stints at West Bromwich Albion and Everton have helped him reach the potential as one of the best strikers in the league with him scoring 17 goals with 35 games with West Brom last season and 14 goals in 30 with Everton so far this season. Mourinho will have a difficult decision to make over Lukaku’s future at the end of the season, but the player looks like he will continue his good form at whichever club he picks ultimately so why shouldn’t it be with Chelsea as he looks like he could could easily progress to scoring well over 20 goals a season especially playing with the talented squad assembled at Stamford Bridge.

I just hope that Mourinho gets it right with the talented young Belgian hit-man as i think we will definitely regret it if we let him leave permanently.
