Lukaku May Be The Striker Chelsea Needs

Chelsea are still looking to find their form. Mourinho recently admitted that he has yet to discover the perfect starting line-up but one thing is for sure, the Blues need a star quality striker who will turn those amazing assists coming from Hazard, Mata and Oscar into goals. Up until now none of the three forwards that Mou has at his disposal have managed to make an impression. Torres is still “adapting” even after almost three years spent on Stamford Bridge, Demba Ba looks like he bit off more than he can chew by coming to Chelsea and Eto’o is out of shape after his 2 year Russian experience.

With that in mind, fans have a tough time understanding why Lukaku was not kept around and got to leave on loan with Everton. The Belgian international is one of the most efficient strikers in Europe and may be a long term solution for the Blues as long as he keeps his head in the game. The 20 year old has managed only 10 appearances for Chelsea since coming from Anderlecht. Unfortunately for him he did not score which was one of the main reasons he was on loan for the next two seasons including this one.

The Belgian spent the 2012-2013 season with WBA for whom he managed 17 goals in 35 appearances which is more than Torres scored since he came to London. Lukaku also scored both goals in Belgium’s 2-1 World Cup qualifier clinching win over Croatia on Friday night again illustrating the scintillating form he is in.

According to Metro, Lukaku was a bit upset with the fact that Chelsea did not keep him even after managing such a great season with WBA. The Belgian international recently declared that he hopes he will help Everton finish in front of the Blues which was clearly an attack on his parent club. It is odd though that he would do that considering how eager Chelsea fans are to seem him playing on Stamford Bridge.

In all fairness, the Belgian international also said that he hopes he will collaborate for Mourinho for a long time after his return to Chelsea. Unfortunately for Lukaku, the press focused mostly on his first statement.
