Lukaku Linked With Spurs Move

According to TEAMtalk, Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku has been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge, after his agent confirmed talks with Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy but refused to confirm a deal for the summer.

Jose Mourinho was visibly upset with the lack of quality from his strikers, as his side ran out on the wrong side of a 3-1 drubbing at the hands of Paris Saint Germain in the UEFA Champions League. Mourinho started the game with Andre Schurrle up front, as Samuel Eto’o had been deemed unfit for the game. Fernando Torres was also given a chance late in the second half, despite his poor performance at the weekend against Crystal Palace, but could not make a difference in the scoreline. Eden Hazard seemed the best chance of a goal from Chelsea’s end, and face an uphill task in the second leg.

Lukaku has been firing on all cylinders for Everton this season, and has been a lethal weapon in Roberto Martinez’s armoury. Everton are currently 5th in the Barclays Premier League standings, and have played one game lesser than Arsenal, who are just four points ahead. Given the lack of striking options available to Mourinho, Chelsea may not budge easily on a deal for Lukaku.
